Our chair (Carl) and Group Scout Leader (Richard) have returned from an amazing 100km trek in the Sahara Desert raising money for the KIDS team at Birmingham Children's Hospital.
This was an adventure of a lifetime. Six days and five nights trekking across the sand dunes. Culminating with a sunset climb of the 300 metre "Erg Zaher" the largest sane dune in the western Sahara.
"We met some amazing people. The Berber nomads that looked after our camels sang us traditional Berber songs and repaid them with some traditional campfire songs of our own. We had the most amazing local guide who led our trek and took us to a Hammam (the Moroccan version of a Turkish bath) to clean up when we finally emerged from the desert. A truly unforgettable experience." - Richard
