The Group, based in Ash Grove, Lichfield, is a thriving Group in Lichfield District. We have over 200 Young People and an enthusiastic group of adult volunteers that make it all happen.

The Group has three Beaver Colonies, three Cub Packs and three Scout Troops. The group is open to any Young Person between the ages of 6 to 18.

Each section leads an active programme for the Young People who attend, indoors, outdoors, winter and summer. There is always something exciting happening at the 7th!

2018 Leaders Away Day

The 7th Leadership Team enjoyed a brilliant day of bush craft training at Wildlife Survival School.

We had two objectives for the day: firstly to improve our skills so that we can pass them on to the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts; and secondly, to have an opportunity for leaders, that can sometimes rarely meet one another, to get to know each other better so that we can continue to improve the cooperation between all sections in the group.

We undertook training sessions in shelter building, natural navigation, fire lighting and knife/axe/saw. Our team has widely different experience levels in these skills, from old hands who have been doing it for years, to first timers that have never started a fire with a flint and steel. Everyone learnt something new and came away with new ideas about how to pass these skills on to our members.

We had 24 leaders on the day. This is a little under half of the total leadership team. It was great to see so many volunteers giving up their valuable time to improve the Scouting experience of all of our members.

So… could you help us? None of our Leaders are paid – they are all volunteers. The majority of our Leaders have full time jobs and a family. We have both male and female Leaders of all ages. Leaders get involved because they want to have fun and make new friends.

You do not have to be a Leader. We have lots of roles away from leading the sections and a great team of adults that support the leaders in making it all happen. Why not join our Executive Committee, Social Team, help look after the kit, be a activity skills instructor, help maintain our hut or get involved in fundraising. We have a active watersports team who run canoeing, kayaking and raft building for our members and we also offer climbing and mountain walking opportunities.  There are lots of ways that you can get fit, get wet and get involved!
