We are back to face-to-face Scouting
The lockdown has been a challenge, but the Leaders at the 7th have risen to that challenge. We have continued to provide online virtual Scouting to all 9 of our sections.
But, finally, we are back to face-to-face activities, albeit in a limited fashion. We have had our first groups of Cubs and Scouts out on the water in kayaks at Manor Park.
Our dedicated team of volunteers have been working hard over the last month to develop and document COVID safe operating procedures and Risk Assessments so that we could start some paddlesport activities as soon as The Scout Association gave us permission to start.
This planning has paid off and we have been able to restart kayaking sessions already. Every Cub and Scout in the Group will get the opportunity for at least 1 session on the water over the next couple of weeks and we will then start offering sessions to other Scout Groups in Lichfield District as well as Explorers and Network sessions.
A huge thank you must to out to all of the paddlesport instructors that are giving up their time to run these sessions and to everyone at the 7th who has contributed to getting us ready.
If you are interested in getting involved in running paddlesport sessions for Lichfield Scouts please fill in the volunteering form at the right of this page and someone will get in touch.
